Can't believe that the year is almost over! So many things have happened, and it's been quite a ride! It's been mainly good, but also with a series of frustrations. On April 6, 2011, Aaron popped the question, so we've been engaged for more than 8 months now-- hard to believe! Our weekends have consisted of wedding planning, seeing people infrequently, but also trying to know one another's families as much as possible. In April, we surprised his family in PA by telling them about our engagement, and the week before Thanksgiving, we saw his mother in Colorado, which was a great opportunity to really get to know her and Jack. And then Christmas was in PA, and then we drove back on the night of the 25th, in order to get back to MA to see Sonu, Sarah, and Jaya....for just about 24 hours. So many whirlwind trips! As for the wedding (mainly in order for me to organize my own thoughts). These items have been completed:
1- venue (sent deposit)
2- reception hall (sent deposit)
3- photographer (sent deposit)
4- videographer (sent deposit)
5- caterer (deposit sent soon)
6- bridesmaid dresses (1 came in, 5 waiting--but they're awesome)
7- wedding gown (finally decided on one!)
8- veil (just came in-- gorgeous!)
9- save the dates (sent!)
10- guest list with a full list of addresses (done!)
11- first hotel visit (Dec 31st)
12- bartender (settled-- with venue!)
13- chair covers
14- decorations for ceremony
still pending...
1- tuxes for the groom and groomsmen
2- shortening original wedding gown into a knee-length dress for the morning send-off breakfast
3- wedding rings and engravings
4- wedding certificate
5- get Matt ordained so he can perform the ceremony
6- finishing the music playlist
7- renting chairs
8- finishing centerpieces
9- seating chart
10- sending invitations
11- deciding on shoes for bridesmaids
12- deciding on shoes for me
13- lengha for the reception
14- flowers for ceremony
15- something blue
16- something borrowed
17- flip-flops to change into
So...not so bad! But 5 months from today, everything must come together. And, the thesis still persists...hopefully in 12 weeks, I will be defending it!
That's it for now...
